Meet Alix: Alix is originally from Tiohtiá:ke/Montréal which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst many First Nations people including the Kanien'kehá:ka of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Huron/Wendat, Abenaki, and Anishinaabeg. She is presently living in Tkaronto/Toronto, the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. She is honoured to breathe, live, learn, love, perform, and teach on this unceded, ancestral, and occupied, traditional land and is grateful to the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island who have cared for these lands since time immemorial.

Alix is an actor, movement and intimacy coordinator/director, writer, director, facilitator in many arts education institutions and a meditation leader. She is a proud mentor to many emerging artists.

Her life principles point to kindness, transparency, playfulness, a deep respect for our planet, and a calling to uplift the beings that inhabit it.

Some heart-based investments she’s proud of include: leading her many ongoing group meditations including her most recent Global Meditation The Big Hug, initiating and being on the steering committee of the peer-assessed professional theatre awards Prix Rideau Awards, being the Curator/Artistic Associate for Magnetic North Theatre Festival’s Industry Series 2011, serving as a two term Canadian Actors Equity Association Councillor and helping with Ottawa’s Wrecking Ball event for 2 years.
